About Marley

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Marley is a 2.5-year-old Australian shepherd. She is a wonderful dog with a lot of heart, but when we adopted her from her previous owner, we realized she had not been properly socialized, despite the owner's insistence otherwise. Our hope was for a well-adjusted companion for our older dog, but she has a lot of care and training needed for her to socialize. We have owned her for the better part of the year and have been hopeful that time spent with our well-adjusted older Aussie would help her, but her issues require a different type of expertise than what we have to offer. She is extremely sweet. She loves her family and is a big cuddle-bug. She is very vocal and loves to talk to you. She isn't a fussy eater, and is extremely respectful when it comes to not begging for food or treats. However, her lack of socialization has made her averse to other dogs. She has a hard time not reacting with barks and aggression when she sees strange dogs on walks. While we have no doubt this behavior can be worked out, we are not in a position to do so ourselves with the time we have available between work and family needs. We know Marley is the perfect dog for someone that can give her the time and attention she deserves to work through her lack of socialization. She is tremendously cute, very active, and extremely loyal and loving. But she requires a lot of attention and care.
