Nothin' but a hound dog! Nick's dominant breed is Treeing Walker but his DNA test shows lots of other hound dog genes as well. Nick is a lively dog who's a real hoot! He runs like the wind and could do so all day long! He's also a sweet boy with personality plus. His photos do not do him justice, and neither did his original owner. A witness saw him get dumped out a truck along the side of a road. His perfect match is an active, loving, and forever adopter. The staff does their best with his exercise needs, but he is mostly in a kennel. He's truly a happy camper when outdoors, no matter the weather he will go, go, go! His love of the outdoors includes sticking his head out of the window on car rides. He loves taking walks, which he does with the animal control officer, but he needs to run - a lot. When possible, his volunteer caregiver brings him into the woods with her own dogs. With such enthusiasm for life, Nick requires space to sniff, run, and explore. He'd be perfect for someone with land or an avid runner or hiker. After some fun, Nick is content and will curl up for some quiet time. As a mega-hound, small animals are not a good fit! Nick loves playing with fellow canines. In fact, he should be placed with another playful, active, large dog(s) because when bored he brays and barks. His experience with children is unknown, but he is friendly. He shows no aggression, but due to his size and energy, any kids in the home should be about 10-years or older. Tall fenced-in yard is required unless you have land. No apartments. The more space the better so let all your rural friends know about this wonderful young dog who needs a forever home!
