About Rupert

**RESILIENT RUPERT** Age approx 8yrs Phoenix AZ. Please help us welcome this little fluff-ball to the FTP family. This poor little guy was found as a stray late December 2024. He is not a young dog so he must have had a family....but they never came looking for him. He went into MCACC not feeling well and scared to death. When a dog is scared and unsure of the people around them....they get nippy, throw up their food and potty as soon as someone tries to approach them. That's how they communicate that they need space, time and patience. Rupert had all of those scared reactions and wound up on the euthanasia list. Here is what we know about Rupert: *He is gorgeous *He is a bit of a handful and HAS to have time to decompress and get comfortable in his surroundings *He has had tremendous uncertain changes in his life and he has to learn to trust again *He loves to go on walks *Rupert is kennel trained *He is not a barker and is a fairly quiet boy *He does not understand chews and toys...this makes us so sad to think he might not ever have had anything of his own *He has learned to take treats from an open hand *He's perfectly fine with a collar on and using a slip-lead for walks but he's not sure about a harness *May be grumpy from the not having the best eyesight *He enjoys his butt rubbies *He will tell you when he's done being loved on .. just lacks best method for warning *He's nippy versus growling first *He will walk away when 'done' so that's a smart kiddo move there. We are confident he wants to be a loving cuddle bug. Looking for someone willing to grant him this time. He is getting fully medically vetted.
