About Nike

Why we are seeking a new home: As can happen with families, we have changed a lot as a group. We got Nike 10 years ago when it was just my wife and I. We now have two daughters, one is special needs, and we both work full time. We are looking to rehome Nike as much for her as for us. We don't engage with her, or take her on walks as much as she deserves. Looking for someone who has time on their hands, looking for an easy, loveable companion. Things to know: Nike is a 9 year old, full bred, Blue Great Dane. She is the easiest dog I've ever met. We initially got her because we lived in NYC and Great Danes seem to be at the top of every good-apartment dogs list. Now she spends her days either inside, on her bed, or sunning in the back yard. Occasionally she will go on a walk if Papa is in town. She is good with people, other dogs, cats, kids, babies. She has no aggression, no food aggression, never been in a dog fight, never bitten anyone. She mostly likes to lay around, go on lazy walks, and spend time in the sun on 60 degree days. She is the perfect dog for someone who has more time on their hands and looking to build a relationship. She can be nervous, but no more so than your average Great Dane. We have loved and taken care of Nike for 10 years, and would love to see her continue to get the love and attention she deserves. Health: She was purchased from a licensed breeder and has all of her immunizations, she has been spayed. Nike will be 10 years old on March 23 of this year. She has no health diagnosis, but sometimes she doesn't take the opportunity to have a bowel movement when offered, and has had multiple accidents in the house over the past 3-6 months. She is not incontinent, but sometimes will be nervous, or forget to have a bowel movement. No urinary incontinence, no other health issues.
