About Sparrow

Sparrow is a four-year-old male Siberian Husky with the Cranston, RI Animal Control. Abandoned and unloved, it took him a while to get used to the people who care for him. In time they did gain his trust and you will too with time, patience, and understanding. Once Sparrow knows you're A-OK, you'll see what a loyal and loving dog he really is. Sparrow really loves being outside. A natural outdoors'man' he enjoys running in open spaces, taking long walks, and hanging out in the yard. He is at home in the cold, snowy weather, which means he can help you keep in shape all year round. He 's also a good traveler and good on leash. Sparrow enjoys hardy playtime. He is eager to learn and use his brain. He knows a few cues but is capable of so much more. He likes other dogs and will likely do best with a calm, compatible resident dog. A trainer has been working with Sparrow daily and has been successful in expanding Sparrow's circle of trust. He is scheduled to be neutered in March, and he isUTD, and house-trained. He has been in the shelter for more than a year and really deserves better. Imagine being cooped up for days on end and you'll understand why Sparrow is anxious when inside his kennel and when meeting new people. If he barks, PLEASE don't take it the wrong way! Due to his nervous nature, Sparrow needs someone experienced with reactivity. Please apply to rescue Sparrow if you are able to: Be patient to help him adjust and feel secure. Allow him to build trust at his own pace, especially with his family members. Provide physical activity and outdoor fun. Work on skills, provide a routine, and set expectations in a positive manner. Have a calm, stable adult-only home. No kids, please! Have another dog that's a good match. No cats, please! Have a large fenced yard or plot of land. He loves to run! Contact Sgt.
