About RoseBud Ruby

Foxhound / Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Age: Young Adult

Hello meet Rosebud Ruby. She is a hound staffie mix. Her story is horrible one as she endured horrible fate early on. She was roaming streets for months and months and she landed up pregnant. She landed on the door steps of two special needs adults who were in a horrible situation of their own living without anything at all on the day to day and her already emaciated but they tried their best to help her so they assumed. They discovered she was pregnant as she was emaciated and giving birth days after arriving. Starved nearly to death and living outside all her life it seemed and streets for months and months as she was spotted all over but not one person tried to get her. She got into rat bait as a new mom and ate the rat bait to stay a live and sadly these two people did nothing until she started bleeding where she was hemrogging and they took her to a vets office, where long story short they had no money at all and were going to leave with her when the vets office intervened in the situation and was able to long story short get the dog into their possession and started treatment. The pups were just a few weeks old and it took weeks to get them to surrender the pups to us as well. Many had died and almost died but those we took possession of we saved with months of medical care. It took Rosebud Ruby months to heal and recover and gain weight. She was under 20 lbs at intake and these pics show nothing of her legit emaciated state but give a glimpse. She is happy healthy and loving as can be now she has blossomed and FULLY recovered with no long term health issues noted. MIRACLE. She was in ICU for weeks and got blood transfusions and meds around the clock and she has just become a miracle to watch. She is super loving affectionate and gentle and kind. She has a lot of energy but settles when asked. But she loves to play and omgoodness she loves to run and play. Loves long walks and jogging and she has gone on a few on leash hikes. She is houndy so she has a nose that can sent anything lol. She is very loyal and loving and she is begging for a home a family. She would do great in a home with or without dogs. I would say she will need fed a lone in a crate or separate room with her food. It is the one thing she guards. I can not fault her for that. I have seen progress with that but it will take a long time for her to forget she starved almost to death. She is plump now and just got spayed. She wants a life where she has a yard fenced to play and and run ( would say you need min of 5 ft fence ) she has jumps like I have never seen playing so a fence is a needed unless you are 1000% committed to leash walks all the time every single day regardless of temp and weather. We do not adopt dogs to be chained or tossed outside and will not allow that. She must be an inside dog. She will be so devoted to you if you want to make her your precious addition. If you would like to adopt her please send a message for our online application. It is fast and easy to fill it out then we can arrange for you to meet her and see if you would like to also bring your fur pet to meet her also. Please reach out to me if you can offer her a loving home and if you have more questions or would like more pics of her. She is in a foster home in Lubbock TX
