Bella was surrendered to rescue by an elderly person who could not care for her properly. Her children gave Bella to her, but she quickly learned she was in over her head and couldn't handle her energy. Bella is some type of terrier mix, and she has the super high energy that goes along with such a breed. She runs around foster mom's house and bounces off the furniture like a ping pong. She is also quite a skilled jumper and will try to get anything she can off your counters! Given her high energy, Bella requires a home with a fenced-in yard and an energetic owner who will commit to long walks/hikes/even runs. Bella could definitely benefit from some basic training, but she is super smart and easy to please. She would excel at agility if her adopter were so inclined. In case you haven't guessed, Bella LOVES her walks'|and she especially loves when foster mom takes her and her foster 'sister' to the beach! She travels well in the car does well on a leash, although she does pull a bit and barks at other dogs. She gets along fine with her foster sibling, Stevie, but Stevie is extremely mellow and allows Bella to be the alpha dog. We feel that Bella would enjoy having another dog in the home to play with, however, we recommend a slow introduction due to her high energy. She is very fixated at watching the critters in foster mom's yard, so we would not recommend a household with cats. Bella is very friendly, but barks a lot when she meets someone new, so she can seem a bit overwhelming at first. We do not recommend young children with Bella, as she is a huge jumper and would surely knock a little one down. Bella will make a great pet for someone who can commit to meeting her exercise needs and be okay with her high energy. Bella is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative.
