Clyde looks very much like a black mouth cur - he's a very handsome dog! He's big -89 pounds. That's his correct weight - he is fit and slender. He loves people and could be an only dog if given enough love and attention. He has been around kids as young as 4 and did great. I think a kid could crawl all over him and he'd love it. He likes to snuggle on the couch or in bed but will sleep at night in a crate. He is a sweet boy who wants to please you. He likes walks in the neighborhood (but keep a good grip if squirrels are around), rides in the car, napping and chewing on elk antlers. He is not destructive and is house trained. Clyde lives with three other dogs and gets along great with them, but that is because of discipline and routine. In new situations, he can be food insecure until he learns that no one is going to try to eat his dinner. If the family who adopts him has another pet, they must understand it will take time for him to get used to having another dog around at dinnertime. He would not be a good fit with another food-insecure dog. Cats are definitely a no. A fenced yard is required. He's a big, lovable goofball. He's also a pretty good watchdog - he'll alert you to someone outside. Ideally, his adopter would be someone who is home much of the time and is willing to go on leashed walks. He can be left alone though for several hours without being destructive.
