PUPDATE: 3/1/25 - MIJO IS DOING WELL, APPARENTLY, THIS DOG HAS HAD SOME TRAINING & WILL REQUIRE AN EXPERIENCED HANDLER ONLY!!! MEET MIJO: A 2.5 YR OLD BELGIAN MALINOIS LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME! Mijo is a striking 2.5-year-old, 71-pound neutered male Belgian Malinois who is eager to find his forever family. If you're experienced with high-energy dogs and looking for a loyal, intelligent companion, Mijo could be the perfect match for you! Per the shelter: 'Mijo was extremely excited to see me at his kennel and took a second to settle. He is very strong walking through the kennels. He is slightly dog reactive but will correct with leash pressure. Both yards were in use, so we went to the volunteer office. Mijo interacted with around 10 volunteers, a couple he had met previously. He took treats very gently. He displayed his sit and down commands. Mijo mostly sat very close for pets and belly rubs. He greeted DPFL very nicely as they passed through the office. I asked a volunteer to hold him while I went and cleaned his kennel. He behaved well for them. After some time just sitting, relaxing, and meeting people, we returned to his kennel. I unleashed him from inside and stepped out without issues.' Mijo is a smart and active dog, full of potential and enthusiasm. Belgian Malinois are known for their work ethic, agility, and quick learning, and Mijo is no exception. He thrives in an environment that offers both mental and physical challenges, making him an excellent choice for an active individual or family who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, running, or playing sports.
