About Scout

Scout is a Mini Aussie, around 2 years old, weighing 24 lbs-and he is truly an amazing dog! He is calm, attentive, and a great listener. He gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids, making him a wonderful fit for many families. However, he does have a strong instinct to chase livestock, so he wouldn't be a good candidate for a farm home. Since fostering Scout, we've seen just how sweet and patient he is. He's an affectionate 'lover boy' and a total cuddle bug who just wants to be loved and included. He enjoys playing with other dogs, so a home with a canine companion is preferred. He is fully house and crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is well-behaved on a leash. Scout also rides calmly in the car-he loves hanging his head out the window-and makes an excellent hiking buddy. He listens well and even has a solid off-leash recall. Scout will need a fenced yard to safely enjoy his outdoor time. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle, and loving companion, Scout could be the perfect addition to your family!
