Meet Wendy- I'm a sweetheart 8 month old smooth coat border collie girl. I'm a lean ~34 lbs but need to put on a little more weight. I love the outdoors and am learning to walk on a leash with my two foster brothers, Im still learning not to pull, but I'm getting softer on the lead each time. I am learning to sit, wait and have a very good recall already. Once I have a trusted person I can relax and be very playful. I am so smart and could be an amazing agility pup, or best adventure bud ever!!! I am potty trained, am learning to sleep in a crate, and loving chewing on all the dog toys, I can be a tiny bit protective of toys I think should be only mine, but easily corrected. I do need to learn that some 'human' things are off limits (stinky socks and dish rags are amazing though), but all I need is a gentle correction and I'll leave it and go back to my chew toys. My foster only has us 'fur' kids so introductions to young humans are unknown, but I am a loving gentle girl. If I've had my good walk, a training session, and some chew toy engagement I will usually chill out and love the safe feeling of the couch. I definitely want to come to a home that allows me to snuggle on the couch. Cars- I am a good traveler in the car to visit the farm, but still need practice learning to 'load up' into the truck or crate. Livestock- Speaking of farms, I'm curious about the horses and do have a low slow stalk from a distance. I'm quiet and non-reactive observing them from my crate, but might like to herd them if given the chance. Outings- I've visited a pet store twice already, and I'm getting a bit more confident each time, but it was very scary the first time. In new environments I need a lot of support to feel secure and safe and for my human to go at the speed of trust. Dogs & people- I'm very good with my two foster brothers, but sometimes want to lay right on top of them! I'm not reactive, but curious about other dogs, I'm a bit shy of new people to start with, I really want my security human nearby, but am learning to trust more people. I'm spayed, up to date on vaccines and have a microchip. I'm being fostered in Seattle, WA.
