About Mia

We are unfortunately having to rehome our spayed 4 year old German shepherd. She is highly trained (e collar off leash trained with several advanced commands) and has lived with our family including 4 children from ages birth to 11 years since we purchased her from Petco 4 years ago. She is AKC registered purebred German shepherd from a black and tan male and silver female and we purchased her from Mason, Ohio Petco. We had no intention of displacing her, but our children frequently run in and out of the house and have left doors open and on occasion she slips out. Just today, a child left the door open and there was a lady walking her small dog in front of our house, our dog confronted it, and it escalated to a short fight that left the small dog with two small puncture wounds. Since we cannot guarantee that this accident of leaving doors open will happen again, we cannot take the risk and have another issue with our neighbors' pets. She is good with people and children. After proper introduction with other large breeds, she plays well but is hesitant. However, she tends to be reactive with the small breeds. We are looking for a good home where the new family will take her outdoors for hikes and playtime often.
