Spud is almost four years old. In November we found Spud tied up to a park bench in the early morning while we were out walking our other dog. We took him home because he was shivering and scared. He had a microchip and were able to get in touch with the previous owner, but she said she had moved to Charlotte several months earlier and gave the dog away before she moved. The new owners apparently didn't want him anymore and just left him out in the cold for someone else to find and deal with. For the last several months we have been fostering Spud. He was extremely skittish and untrusting for the first couple weeks. It was clear he was dealing with some sort of past trauma. But after a couple weeks, he finally started feeling safe inside his new home. He is calm and low maintenance most of the time and loves to cuddle, go for walks, and have his belly rubbed. It's time for him to now have a long-term permanent home.
