We are looking for a loving, STRUCTURED home for this boy, Bear. He is a 3-year-old neutered American Black Lab. After careful deliberation, we've come to the conclusion that his current home isn't the best fit for him. He has slight vision impairment (from birth) which has caused him anxiety with new places & meeting new people and new dogs. The other issue is that he currently lives with his biological mom and sister with whom he's shown signs of littermate syndrome because he's always having to compete. He has bitten before (while off leash) simply out of fear. However, he has been to Agoge K9 training multiple times for board & train, with no issues, and is remarkable in an organized environment. This is why he needs an experienced owner who understands him and can give him the proper attention & training he needs. A fenced in backyard or a secluded farm would be super ideal but he also does okay on a leash. He pulls a little bit because he is so strong. When he knows you & trusts you, he is the most loyal, energetic and cuddly boy! He loves to swim, and play fetch and is super athletic! Preferably a young & active single person or couple or middle-aged couple with no other dogs OR a home with an older, chill dog who leads him & doesn't pick on him (per his trainer). Also a home with NO young children. He is not the kind of dog that you take to a dog park or introduce to a lot of new people. He needs a routine and 'his person'. He will not go to just anyone and we'd preferably love to still be able to check in on him. If you're interested or have any questions please reach out!
