About Calzone

American Staffordshire Terrier / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

We have worked so hard to save Calzone from euthanasia at a NC shelter, and he needs his next UNICORN FOSTER OR ADOPTER IMMEDIATELY! His current foster can no longer keep him, and his next foster backed out of their commitment. Calzone has not had an easy life so far; at 2 years old, he was found as a stray and was determined to have advanced heartworm disease. No one wanted him at the shelter, so he was slated for euthanasia until he was pulled at the 11th hour by a rescue. He is is desperate need of a committed foster or adopter who is willing to keep him quiet and happy while undergoing urgently needed heartworm injections, a process that takes around 3 months. Afterwards, the hope is that Calzone will be healthy enough to be neutered. Calzone just wants to be your lap dog even though he's around 60 pounds. Calzone MUST BE THE ONLY PET IN THE HOME because he was dog-reactive in the shelter, and he needs to be kept calm during his heartworm injections. Maybe after he is healthy enough to be neutered, he can be dog-tested under better circumstances. But for now, we need a UNICORN FOSTER OR ADOPTER--if that is you, please call or text Natalie at 919-395-8084 immediately. Transportation and heartworm treatments will be provided. Please help us to save his life.
