OWNER UNFORTUNATELY CANNOT KEEP DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS (please no negative comments, owner is at least asking for help to rehome). Please help us find a loving, responsible home for handsome Lalo, an approximate 2.75 yr old, 55 lb chow boy who looks more purebred. He is being rehomed after circumstances changed in his home, and the family had to move in with in-laws. They also now have a small toddler in the home, along with another very reactive dog. The other dog is not in need though. Please no negative comments as the focus needs to be on finding Lalo the forever home he deserves and will thrive in. The owner has told us Lalo ' is friendly to all people and dogs I have introduced him to. I am not sure how he is with cats. He can be rough with small children. He does need proper introductions to new people coming into his home as typical of his breed. He is extremely goofy and affectionate. He loves sitting on or near his people and getting pet. If he decides he likes someone he will do what we call the Lalo lean and stand beside them leaning into them so they cannot move.' The owner says Lalo 'has never snapped or been aggressive to the kids but he is rough playing with our toddler. He knocks him over and aggressively licks him. But has never growled or snapped.' Additionally, we were told the other dog gets Lalo riled up, and 'When he gets riled up by the other dog he is hard to control until he settles down. It takes him alot to get to that point though. He also does not like brushing or grooming.' One last thing we were told is Lalo is hardly ever walked, so he may need more stimulation through walks, and less stimulation through other active dogs getting him riled up though. Lalo is already neutered and will be brought current on his vaccinations. Chow or dog experience is preferred. If you have another dog or pet, a meet and greet is strongly advised. Sorry, we do not do transport to private homes unless a rescue is involved due to risks of a home or dog not working out for any reason.
