NICO is a 2.5 year old, 13 pound Chihuahua mix who came to us from a shelter where he had been surrendered by his owner. NICO is a long-legged sweetie who longs for a lap to cuddle in. He loves affection and affection and will gently place a paw on his foster mom's leg asking to be picked up. He often sits on the sofa at foster mom's place until she comes to sit down or comes home and loves to snuggle on blankets. NICO is great with people and other dogs. He will initiate play with the other dogs and when they don't want to play he will give space. He mainly likes to run with them and join in when they get excited about things like treat time. He tends to follow their lead and we want him to go to a home with another small dog. He has had one encounter with a stray cat and was curious and a little barky. He has not been tested with kids. NICO is working on his potty training which is improving with frequent potty breaks and praise after he takes care of his business, but he still has accidents and needs a patient person someone to keep working with him. He does pretty well on leash but needs more practice. Because he loves being with his people, he will try to leave out the door with them - something to pay attention to if you adopt him. At night, NICO sleeps in bed with his foster family. NICO has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, has had a dental cleaning, is heartworm negative, has a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
