We took Bandit in when he was 10 weeks old, and he is almost a year now. He was found by the side of the road with his sister. He is a heeler and requires a lot of exercise. He loves to swim, chase (and chew) the ball, belly rubs, riding in the car, and pup cups from Sonic. He's 45 lbs, lanky, and getting stronger every day. He knows some commands (sit, high-5, go get the ball/toy, go for a ride in the car, hungry). He is very loyal, and can be trusted to stay with you if he's off leash. He's a protector and guardian. He has a sweet personality, and can adorably play on his own too. He does well at the dog park and gets along with other dogs there - have never had any issues. He's neutered and up to date on his shots and flea/tick/heartworm. Leash, crate, amd potty trained. Unfortunately, he has become aggressive at home with our other dog. He and our 8-yo basset used to have fights - not just play - but they have only gotten worse as Bandit has gotten older and stronger, and now both dogs have gotten injured. We've tried to train him and help our basset heal from the trauma, but we just don't think this is going to work. Our basset has had multiple minor wounds, but it's too much now. Bandit may need a home with no other dogs (or male dogs), no cats, with a yard to run in, and an owner committed to providing all of the great care this sweet boy requires. This is a very hard decision but we believe it's our last option to protect our other dog, and to help Bandit live his best life too. He and our other dog are safe because we are keeping them separated, but this isn't a sustainable solution. Thank you in advance.
