Where to even start about Penny. She is a 10 month old Shepherd mix who is loving, sweet, but very rambunctious and High energy. She is going to be pretty big. The way we obtained her is a long story but we had tried to find her a home since she was a small pup, people kept backing out before they even came to see her, so we attempted to try and keep her. But we worried about keeping her for the same reason we are now having to rehome her. She is too big and too rambunctious for our household that contains senior citizens and toddlers. And she plays way too rough with our smaller dog, and it's hard trying to keep them separated. I am very afraid she is going to hurt one of them, even though she is just being playful. It is NOT fair to the dog to have to keep putting her in the crate. I would love to see her go to an active family with school aged kids or single person who has the time to play with her. She needs room to run. Not a dog for an apartment! She does well with most dogs, might chase cats, but not to hurt them, still in her rough play, she could. I would NOT recommend her being around small dogs as she just plays too rough. Again, she is very sweet and has never shown any aggression. She does love kids and loves to play, she is housebroken, takes her treats very gently, will sit and shake hands and puts herself in her crate at night. Her large crate can come with her if needed. She could be a great dog for the right active family or person. There is no fee but it would be nice to offer a small donation to this rescue group as they really provide a great service. She is available immediately and can be picked up in Schaghticoke, NY
