I am moving Saturday. Unfortunately, I am not able to take my animals. Trust me, this is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make since my animals are my family too. I have been able to find a home for one cat, and a temporary home for the other two until I can find them a permanent home. This is where my problem is. I cannot find a home for my dog. I got her from Young Williams 3 years ago. After about 6 months, she started being protective of me and started biting. Young Williams set me up with a virtual trainer. After some sessions, they said my dog would need in person training. I was a lot better financially at the time, but not well enough to pay for training. Young Williams wanted me to bring the dog back to them with pictures of the bites. I wouldn't do that. I do t feel like it is the dog's fault she was placed in a home that was unaware of her breed. She is a very loving dog. She loves to play and cuddle. My kids, who are teenagers, and I have learned to watch her signs. My kids cannot walk into my bedroom and up to my bed if the dog is there. Or they cannot come sit next to me on the couch sometimes, so I have learned to get up so the dog will follow me, let my children sit down, then the dog and I will go back to the couch. Then the dog is fine. She does like to bark and growl when someone leaves the house or comes in. She will run right up to the person wanting them to run from her so she can chase them. If they stand their ground, she stops and watches for danger. She is ok with cats, but she does try to corner them sometimes. She has never hurt the cats. She is ok being around other dogs for short periods of time. She doesn't like when other dogs try to sniff her, she wants to do the sniffing. I cannot find a home for my dog. I am afraid if I bring her to the shelter, she will be put down or given to another unassuming home.
