About Monte

Monte is a purebred Havanese.He does not shed! He is a very intelligent dog and learns easily. He is a great watchdog and will protect his owner against strangers. He is an Inside dog only. And likes to sleep on a chair with his blanket next to his owners bed. He also loves toys. He likes carrying the toys around the house and guarding them. He learned to identify each toy and would go get the particular toy from the basket that I named! . He gets along with other dogs and cats too. Monte has a sensitive stomach, and needs to be fed sensitive stomach dog food. And he needs to be able to go to a groomer every 7-8 weeks. He HATES to get his nails cut, his paws trimmed and his face trimmed. Do not attempt it . His adoption fee is $450 firm.. ) I have to find the best home for him. He needs to be with another dog because he has separation anxiety as we have learned. And . You need to introduce yourself slowly to him. Let him come to you when he's ready. , As he is going to miss his owner ( who is fighting cancer) very much. . The 3-3-3 rule applies to him: 3 days to get used to surroundings, 3 Weeks to get accustomed to his new owner and the house rules, 3 months to bond even more and feel comfortable with his new home. ( alot of trainers use this method with rescue dogs). He's been around children alot, but I would not recommend him being around children until he's fully accustomed with the new owners and surroundings. . He's 6 years old and was completely dedicated to his current owner. So he will need time.
