About Robin

Robin is an exotic, grey striped beauty with the most distinctive markings. This little birdie 'hatched' on the cruel streets and was found dodging cars in a convenience store parking lot. Brave, hungry Robin was searching for a meal in the trash with her sibling. Unfortunately, her littermate was far too frightened and street smart to be caught. But luckily, this little one knew the danger of her predicament and trusted enough to come close to kind humans for a much-needed meal in a warm indoor home. Robin is just starting to spread her proverbial wings, opening up slowly as she has returning moments of fear towards new people. While she is understandably cautious, she enjoys being held, purrs softly and is learning to fully trust her human caregivers. Robin's preferred nest is a high kitty shelf in the shelter where she watches her devoted volunteers lovingly prepare her meals. She loves to eat and has gradually gained weight to now be considered a healthy young cat-teenager. We believe Robin will be a good family member with children, other cats and gentle dogs since she is still young and can be taught to feel safe among all housemates with thoughtful introductions, a little love and patience. The most important factor will be to go slowly and understand boundaries; it is hard to unlearn the skills that kept this survivor alive for the first eight months of her life. Someone who can take the time to earn her trust will find a loyal, if shy, companion with a heart full of quiet affection.
