At 14 months old, Simon is a healthy 37lbs with a little growing left to do. He is neutered, chipped, and up to date on vaccinations/parasite control%BD'%BD| This youngster has changed homes multiple times now and really just needs a consistent, dedicated owner that will give him guidelines, activity, and direction. Currently he is learning recall, sit, down, and stay in a farm foster home with a pack of fun-loving dogs in NE OR (outside of LaGrande). He has gotten along great with all the canines but can be overly playful and exuberant at times. The resident cat is also met with a lot of excitement, so Simon will need help learning feline family manners as well. Simon is improving with behavior on leash and in the house. He carefully eats his meals and has shown no signs of food aggression, resource guarding, or signs of food sensitivity. His favorite pastimes are catching treats, pouncing on playmates, and tossing a ball. So far Simon isn't very interested in retrieving or livestock moving. He doesn't seem overly interested or scared of the pigs, cows, horses, & chickens on the farm. He is a shining example of the upbeat, unflappable Aussie temperament that makes them confident, entertaining, partners. Simon loves every person and dog he meets. His bubbly smile is infectious and his joy is double contagious when he uses the signature Aussie wiggle-butt powers. Simon's coat is amazingly fine and soft%BD'%BD| but also acts as a dirt magnet when he flexes his digging muscles. Moreover, in classic Aussie style he will need regular grooming to keep up his coat. Thankfully he does awesome in the tub! The foster was warned of potential bathroom accidents in the house - but there have been no messes indoors yet, good boy Simon! At this stage, Simon is always contained or under supervision or crated as he's learning. Simon's foster parents have not had him around children, but think he would love his own kids that are a little older and able to help him regulate his excitement and control jumping up. Simon is SMART%BD'%BD| and such a fast learner, he really just wants a family that can start teaching him anything and everything. He is treat motivated, and would love nothing more than learning your own special tricks and activities!
