She was abandoned behind our property, took us 3 weeks to catch her. Immediately took her to the vet, they stated she was a whippet cross, she was extremely malnourished and the vet thought she had been without proper care for over 1 month. Too malnourished for vaccines or spay, is heart worm negative, has had first treatment for hookworms, recommend we start her on puppy food, she has gained a pound or two this week. She weighed 34 pounds last week when found. Extremely smart, very high energy, very affectionate. Very submissive to our older dog. No food aggression but will gobble up anything she can. Vet said she will have that food anxiety but she is getting better about that. Housebroke in the first 2 days, and will use a puppy pad if needed. She chases our chicken but hasn't injured them, responds to verbal corrections. We have been calling her Piper and she knows her name. Will 'smile' if she does something wrong. Do not know how she acts the kids nor cats but am assuming she will do well. Understands the doggie door, someone took care of her earlier in life. We did microchip her in case she escaped the fence. Have checked every lost and found with nothing resembling her. Vet assured us she was probably bonded due to her present condition. Asking for adoption fee to cover vet care. Thank you! Correction, she was vaccinated for rabies and first dhlpp on 1/13/25, had cbc and adult chem showing anemia, received credit and interceptor plus on 1/13/25. Thank you!
