About ROMEO

ROMEO is a 4 1/2 month old, 15 pound Chihuahua Terrier mix. He came to us as an owner surrender because his people are no longer able to care for him. He has the most gorgeous green eyes. ROMEO is a cute scruffy pup with a very outgoing and confident personality. He's very active and is usually on the go but when he slows down he is very loving. He likes head scratches and belly rubs. ROMEO gets along well with most small dogs and should be in a home with another young, energetic dog about his size to keep up with him! He is very active and plays hard and is not fond of large dogs. We have not had him around cats or kids but think older kids would be fine. His energy and sharp little puppy teeth might be too much for a little kid. ROMEO needs a fenced-in yard because he absolutely loves to run and play outside. He knows how to use the doggie door and goes in and out all day long. He is not 100% housebroken but is working on it. He is still a puppy and sometimes gets too busy playing to remember that he needs to go potty when he's outside too! When it's time to settle down, ROMEO'S preference is to sleep in the bed with his person but because of his high energy and his inability to calm down when it's bedtime, sometimes he is not allowed to sleep in the bed and will sleep in the another room in a dog bed with some of his doggy friends. ROMEO has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, has been started on heartworm prevention and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. We are a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola FL and adopt within a 6-hour drive to Pensacola. Local applicants will be given first consideration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments and dogs with behavioral issues are local adoption only. We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit.
