About Russo

We adopted Russo from the shelter on 12/11/24. He is very sweet and loving towards us. He is very smart and has learned some training skills. He walks well on leash and responds to a whistle for recall. He is about 1yr 8mo old. He was originally left to wonder the streets so he prefers to be outside but also wants company. We have cats and ducks which he wants to chase so I would not recommend him for a home with small animals. We do not have the kind of property to meet his needs. He has become territorial over our home since he spends much of his time inside. He will bark and lunge at people coming into the house. He needs lots of area to roam and watch over. He would be well suited to watch over a flock but would need some training. He is a confident dog who has no problem trying to be the pack leader. He will need someone who has experience with dogs and able to assert calm assertive dominance over him so he knows his place in the pack. Unfortunately, we are not that for him.
