About Rosie

Rosie is an eager, sweet, very anxious German Shepherd Malinois mix. She spent 1.5 or 2 years in a 6 x 8 cage. We saved her from that cage April, 2024, but she is more than we can handle. She knows basic commands, likes her dog house and crate, will do almost anything for a treat. She also needs more to keep her occupied, more security, and someone who has more time for her. Her anxiety is greatest around strange men or people who startle her (like my elderly, very silent, mother who lives with us). Once she knows people, even children, she is fine with them, but we are not comfortable letting her loose when we have visitors. She is loyal to her people but not cuddly. She does not know how to play except rough and tumble puppy playing, which is painful because she is big and has teeth--although she tries to be gentle. She can make friends with other dogs, although we can't often connect her with them. Our cats have her tamed, but they don't trust this energetic large dog.
