Traverse City, Michigan) Star is 8 months, going on 9 months old. She is a good dog overall and I know she has a lot of great potential, but she does have a lot of her Husky puppy behaviours to work on. She is fully vaccinated, has all booster shots, microchipped, and spayed. She is in very good health and has no history of any issues. Some things to be aware of with Star: She will find things to chew on if she doesn't have a toy or other distraction. She has been known for chewing and swallowing socks, small cloth toys, etc. She tends to play hard, which can include jumping and biting (never aggressively or drawing blood, just hard playing and accidental bites) Recently she has been more prone to jumping and biting/chewing on people or things when she wants attention or something (like to play, go outside, get out of bed, etc.). This has become an issue with having others around and they become a bit worried around Star. Walking her on a leash is a challenge and she will pull very hard throughout most of the walk. She has been getting better and I have been trying to train her not to pull. If she sees another animal or human, she will get crazy and has a hard time controlling herself. She is not good with cats, and I have tried to socialize her with my girlfriend's cats. She will continuously try to chase them and won't stop even after being scratched. This causes a very uneasy environment for her. She is best with adults who can manage her energy level and strength. I'm sure she would love another Husky companion to keep her busy and become friends with. Star is overall a loving great dog who just needs proper training, the right owner/family, and a good lifestyle that meets her needs. This is unfortunately something I cannot give her at this time due to recent job changes/income loss, health, and other life events. She loves to sleep with me on the bed at night, gives kisses, will cuddle and sleep on me when relaxed, plays with most toys and enjoys chasing, loves belly rubs, is good with being groomed (brushed/nails clipped), and is very smart knowing most commands. I hope you can help me find a good loving home that can give Star a happy deserving life.
