SCOOTER is a 2 year old, 11.1 pound Chihuahua. Sadly his owner is no longer able to care for him and he came to us to find a new family. SCOOTER was very afraid when he first came to rescue. It took him a few days to adjust to his foster home and then he became his foster mom's little shadow! He is starting to show some affection and has become a little bit kissy. He will stand on his back legs and wrap his front legs around his foster mom's leg when he wants pets and head scratches. He likes to cuddle on the couch with his foster mom but is still unsure about his foster dad. SCOOTER gets along well with other little dogs and he would be happiest with another little dog in the family. He likes to snuggle with one of his foster fur siblings and has started to play with one of his smaller foster fur brothers. We have no idea how he would be with cats and kids will make him nervous. SCOOTER loves to explore the yard and makes sure that everybody knows it's his...yes, he likes to mark his territory! He is working on his potty training. We do not know if he is leash trained. We are requiring a home with a fenced yard both because he was very scared when he came in and because it's going to make potty training a lot easier! At night, SCOOTER sleeps in the big bed, snuggled under the blankets or at the foot of the bed. SCOOTER has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
