About Maui

Maui is an 11m old catahoula mix. He was found at a day old after his mom gave birth outside & passed away. He was bottle fed & was given to me at 6 weeks old because his litter mate & the other dogs in the girls care were bullying him severely. However two of my existing dogs (we have 4 others excluding Maui) have always been stand offish with him since the day he came home. I did a slow introduction with them & have been working with them since but at this point it's only getting worse & it's affecting Maui. They're snapping at him randomly anytime he goes near them. There's been no fighting, Maui is very submissive but I don't want him to get hurt or to become reactive because of this. At this point I'm keeping them separated, putting my two that are having issues with him in my room to give him time out & about & then putting him in his crate to give them time out but it feels unfair to all of them to be living like this. His birthday is February 10, he's unneutered as of right now (we planned on having it done at a low cost clinic after he turned 1) & he'll be due for all his vaccines in April. I unfortunately don't have his shot records though because the girl who gave him to me had them done & took him for his boosters & wouldnt give them to me. The only thing she gave me was a screenshot of his reminder dates. He's crate trained & before things got to this point, he had access to the whole house constantly so I would leave the crate open & he would go lay in it on his own. He's house trained & has some basic obedience training. He's a quick learner but as a puppy (and I think the breed) pushes the boundaries constantly. He has a lot of energy & loves to run around our yard with the two dogs that love him. We have 3 cats in the house & he does okay with them but occasionally will chase them to try to play but has never hurt anyone or anything. We also have two young children, both under 3 that he loves but if he's running around he doesn't always pay attention & has knocked them over but otherwise is very sweet with them.
