Name: Gizmo Age: DOB 5/4/2019 Breed: Akita, 110 pounds Sex: Male (neutered) Location: Kenosha, WI Gizmo is a beautiful Akita that is looking for a new forever home. Vet Info: Gizmo went blind about 3 months ago. Owner reports that the vet can't figure out why. Owner is unable, at this time, to take him to a veterinary ophthalmologist. Gizmo is up to date on his vaccinations and the owner believes that he has tested HW- but that would have to be confirmed with the vet. Gizmo is microchipped and neutered. Owner states that other than the blindness, he is very healthy. Dog Info: Gizmo is an indoor dog with the run of the house. He is housebroken and has been leash trained but very rarely is he on the leash. He has had free run of owners fenced in yard. Gizmo knows the commands 'sit' and 'paw'. He is an outgoing boy that is good with men, women and children of all ages. He is also good with male dogs and guinea pigs. He has never had any issues with any person or animal that he has been around. Female dogs and cats are unknown, however. Gizmo is not possessive with treats, toys or food and has never shown any signs of aggression. Owner feels that he is adapting well to his blindness for the most part. He just sometimes has trouble with stairs and bumps his head on occasion. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
