I AM TRYING TO REHOME OUR DOG. PLEASE SEE THE INFORMATION BELOW. I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. Dallas, OR. BREED Mastiff, Black Labrador Retriever AGE 2.5 year(s) GENDER Male SIZE Large (105lbs) CAN LIVE WITH 'ۢ Needs To Be Only Pet SPAYED/NEUTERED Yes VACCINES UPDATED Yes LOCATION Dallas,OR NO REHOMING FEE BIOGRAPHY Quasi is a 105-pound 2.5-year-old Mastiff/Lab mix. My family has had him since he was about 12 weeks old and we have had to make the difficult decision to find him a home that is a better fit (which, I believe, requires that he is the only pet in the house). He loves people; my kids are 14 and 22, and he has been around a kid as young as 9 and loves every minute. (He is, however, like any dog and will bark if a stranger shows up at your house.) We have cats and he loves them, he just wants to play. Our adult cats do fine with him, but he is too rough with our kitten, not on purpose, he just doesn't realize his own strength. He has never shown aggression toward people and initially, Quasi did great with our other dogs (one male, one female, and both fixed). We were waiting until he was 2 to have Quasi neutered, but he started showing some aggression toward our male dog, so we got him neutered hoping that would solve the problem. It only got worse. He has attacked our male dog multiple times causing some serious injuries/puncture wounds. We have to keep them separated at all times because Quasi will attack our other male dog unprovoked. We will have Quasi out of his kennel to eat, run, go potty, and hang out with the family for a while, then put him in his kennel and let our other dog out to do the same. We have been doing this for a while and it works, but it is not ideal for either dog, or for our family. He would be best suited to be an only dog, if not the only pet. We also have horses, and he is not sure what to think of them and he has not spent much time around them. He is very shy/timid at the vet, but not aggressive. He is established with Ash Creek Animal Clinic in Independence, Oregon. He is taking 60mg of Prozac every morning, but I don't think it is helping much anymore so I might talk to the vet about discontinuing that. Quasi is vaccinated, microchipped, kennel trained and potty trained. He knows to 'sit' and 'lay down' (although he doesn't do either very well). He could use more training- he is still very much a puppy and likes to play with his toys and running from one end of the house to the other with a toy in his mouth, shaking his head and making his ears flop. He loves ice cubes and attention... He really is a big baby. We live out in the country, and we do not have a fenced yard, so he goes out on a run when he needs to go potty. He pulled the stake out of the ground a few times and ventured off into the woods. He always comes back, but not always when you call him. He would need a secure yard that he can't get out of if he is in town. Even in the country, it would be good to have a secure yard for him. While he's not perfect, who is?! Quasi really is a sweet boy that wants to be loved. I will be picky about where he goes. I will require that you have no other pets in your home, a safe space with room for him to run and play and that if he doesn't work out, you will notify me. He will come with his kennel, his bed and some toys as well as any food that we have left.
