GEORGETOWN, OHIO (WILL DRIVE UP TO 3 HRS TO MEET). 7 Y/O FEMALE, CKC REGISTERED, FULLBLOOD GSD. Her name is ' ROSIE RIVETER'. Background: Current Shepherd Parent got Rosie 7 7 yrs ago, but was unable to care for her. Rosie has lived a life of Neglect and now the Current Shepherd Parent's health is failing erratically so Rosie is now living with the Current Shepherd Parent's elderly parents. NOT UTD on shots WITHOUT record (Family will try to get her Current). Fixed. Good with kids. Good with dogs. NOT good with cats. House trained UNKNOWN, Rosie has been forced straight out side when she was finally let out of her crate. Crate trained. Rosie has lived the majority of her life in her crate. She needs someone that will no longer crate her, but work with her to Free Roam the home and allow her to thrive. Living most of her life in a crate, I'm sure has created a Trauma Response to being crated, and we need to respect Rosie and not crate her. No known medical issues. ABUSE/NEGLECT HISTORY. HIGH ENERGY . HIGH PREY DRIVE. Has attacked/wounded sheep. Currently on UNKNOWN food. Weighs UNKNOWN lbs. Good with car rides. Loves: UNKNOWN. How sad of a situation is this to not know what your dog loves because she has been neglected her whole life. Personality: Sweet girl, High Energy. This is a very sad situation and I honestly had a hard time making this profile. Rosie's Current Shepherd Parent has Heart Failure and is declining rapidly. She got Rosie 7 years ago as a puppy but was never able to care for her. Rosie was kept in a crate and as soon as she was let out of her crate, she was forced outside. As the CSP's health declined more, Rosie was kept in her crate longer and longer and longer. Now the Current Shepherd Parent's elderly parents have Rosie to foster until we can find her a good home; But they are elderly and they cannot handle Rosie's high energy and behavior since she has never been worked with or trained. Rosie has been isolated and alone. Even though they are trying to allow Rosie to have a better life at their home, she is still spending too much time in her crate because they are not able to handle her. They have livestock and Rosie has attacked their sheep multiple times with multiple wounds. It is important that Rosie go to a home with NO livestock. So now they are keeping her in a crate most of the time. They take her for car rides, etc, and do try. This is an URGENT case. Rosie is not thriving and she is going to mentally decline if we cannot get her out of these living situations and into a good home IMMEDIATELY. I need an amazing, loving person to apply for her ASAP! Comes with: Collar, leash.
