About Lucas

Lucas is a 2 year old neutered male German Shepherd. He is up to date on all vaccinations. He is house trained and can come when called, sit, lay down and stay briefly. We have been working on 'shake' to get him familiar with touching his paws, but is still reluctant to let us cut his nails. He is good natured, affectionate and eager to please. However, he is strong willed and is aggressive when taking things away or out of his mouth. He gets along with our dog but compatibility with other dogs would be on a case by case basis. He is not well socialized with other dogs or people (seems to prefer men). He has exhibited 'prey drive' tendencies with children and we would recommend that he go to a home that does not have kids under 12. Lucas needs an experienced, capable person to help in his development. We encourage a series of meetings before he is permanently rehomed to ensure a good transition for everyone.
