AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Mulan. Mulan is an 8#, 4 year-old breeder-release Powder Puff Chinese Crested. She is acclimated well with other dogs, yet needs a patient, loving individual or family to help her gain her confidence with humans. Mulan is looking for a home with a retired couple or individual, or where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Mulan acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. An additional fur-sibling in the home would help Mulan with her new routine. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Mulan to acclimate to the drastic changes in her life. As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents.
