ORANGE COUNTY, CA (S CAL)- WAGS (Westminster Adoption Groups and Services)- 'FREDERICK' fna Mr Chow- ID#16883- younger chow found as a stray- adorable but neglected boy who has been non reactive to dogs and cats so far - needs chow savvy home or foster and rescue before he is euthanized The WAGS shelter is asking for help for this handsome young man who came in initially scared, but has since warmed up to several of its staff. He now allows petting on his face and under his chin which we have video of, and most recently let staff brush him a lot as he came in rather matted. The shelter has named him 'Frederick', but we previously called him 'Mr Chow'. We were given nice videos of him being non reactive to other dogs passing by him, and even non reactive to cats! In fact, he passed right by who hissed at him. Frederick is estimated to be 3.75 years old, is a larger chow or chow mix at 60 lbs, and and has been recently neutered. He will be even more stunning after a good grooming. The shelter had him listed as Rescue only before due to being a typical scared chow in a shelter environment early on, but is open to adopting him to a chow savvy home. We are also looking for a chow savvy foster since most rescues need a place for a dog to go.
