About DAVINCI

DAVINCI is an 11-month-old, 15 pound black and silver Dachshund Poodle mix. He was surrendered because his owner could not take care of him. DAVINCI is Mr. Cool, Calm & Collected... and lovable! He adores attention and affection. During the day he will lie under the desk at his foster mom's feet or right behind her office chair. If you sit on the couch, he will fall into you and flop on his back for belly rubs. He loves playing with toys and will hold them in his paws while he is on his back. At first DAVINCI was apprehensive about walking on the leash, but now he goes on multiple walks a day with his foster fur-siblings. On leash, he will whine when he sees other dogs, but only because he is excited to see them. He enjoys playing with other dogs and would love a furry friend in his new home. DAVINCI had a history of running with his original family but has not had that issue with us. To be safe though, we are requiring a home with a fenced yard for him. He is working on potty training - he does mark around the house but is doing well with correction. At night, DAVINCI sleeps leaned up against his foster dad. In the morning, be ready - he will wiggle his way across your body (sometimes even on top of your pillow) just to get some attention and pets! DAVINCI has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about DAVINCI: When he shakes himself off after a good roll or a belly rub, his whole-body twitches! He starts at his nose and works all the way down to the end of his tail! He has not been tested with kids or cats since we have had him. We have no idea how he would be with cats, but we think he would be fine with older kids.
