About Maya

Meet Maya, the 6-year-old Australian shepherd who's a love bug and a life coach��%BD'��%BD| The Good: ��%BD'� Maya gives world-class affection. She's full of sweetness but needs owners who understand her personal boundaries and when she needs to be left alone ��%BD'� Hiking buddy? Check. Maya is always up for an adventure (and does great on leash with healing and a treat or two) ��%BD'� Walking with Maya has always been a blast - she's also a tug-of-war champion (we always let her win!) ��%BD'� 3-star for Obedience! She knows all her commands and walks well on leash. Sit, stay, and wait��%BD'��%BD| steal your sandwich - (nobody is perfect��%BD'��%BD|) ��%BD'� We have all her vet records and shots up-to-date. There are no physical health issues with her The Quirks: ��%BD'� Maya has strong 'only child' energy. She's not a fan of other dogs but does GREAT with our older dog because they have a special bond. ��%BD'� She has retired from her past 'shepherd' nipping business-thanks to anxiety meds and our young kids growing up. But let's not tempt fate. Homes with older kids (5 and up) = happiness for everyone. ��%BD'� She's a counter-surfing ninja and has been known to swipe Jimmy Dean sandwiches right out of little hands. The Truth: Maya is a sweetheart who just wants to live her best life. She's looking for a home that respects her need for space, her dislike for most other dogs, AND needs to let out that Aussie energy. She has a lot of energy/anxiety. We spend lots of time playing with her and giving her affection when she asks for it. If you're the kind of family who can keep snacks out of reach and loves long walks with a loyal companion, Maya just might be your girl.
