About Kaito

Kaito has a hard time trusting people and will need a very experienced owner. He will need someone that is willing to work with him on his fear based aggression and his recource guarding. He has bitten before, but he has been crate and muzzle trained and finds these things to be very comforting/fun. If you open his kennel he will sleep in it and go right in with no issues. If you pick up his muzzle he will get excited thinking he's going for a walk. He is very food driven but it is also a source of his reactivity when other animals are around, so we do not use it for training on walks. We use positive reinforcement instead. He is allergic to birds (chicken, turkey, quail) so we had him on a special diet but can't afford it currently so he's very itchy and has loose stools sometimes. He knows hand signals, verbal cues, and whistle recall. He also knows that he has to go to the tub to get sick so instead of freezing he will follow you if you encourage him into the tub. He has many favorite toys and loves playing fetch.
