Golden Retriever / Poodle

Edit: I have an interested person who is going to meet Sadie on Saturday and will take her if she gets along with their other dog. Sadie is a very large, overweight golden doodle who has been with me since May 2024. I was asked by my niece and her boyfriend to care for Sadie for the summer or until they were able to find a house or apartment where they could have a dog. Now they have decided they don't want her back and have told me to 'just get rid of her.' I do not have the ability to keep Sadie myself but would like to see her adopted by someone who can love and care for her as she deserves. She is a very well mannered dog who has been overfed by a previous owner. I have kept her on a diet with daily exercise but she doesn't seem to be losing weight and I wonder if she has some underlying health issue. I can't afford to take her to the vet though since my niece and her boyfriend won't pay me back. Sadie has a few special needs. She isn't strong enough to jump into a tub for a bath so will need someone who has a walk-in shower or who is strong enough to lift her into a tub (she weighs approximately 115lbs.) or who can afford to take her to a groomer for regular baths and grooming. She also can't jump into a tall vehicle such as large SUV's or pickups. I have a small car that Sadie gets into by first climbing into the floor and then up onto the seat. She does enjoy going for car rides though. I have been keeping Sadie's coat brushed and free of matts but am unable to properly groom her because of the tub issue and I can't afford to pay to take her to a DIY bathing facility let alone pay for a professional groomer. My niece has come to give Sadie a bath only twice since May and has only given her a trim once. (She lives two hours away from me.) So needless to say Sadie really needs a haircut and bath. Sadie is up to date on vaccinations. My niece's boyfriend paid for me to take her to the vet in June 2024 to get her annual shots. She last got a rabies shot in 2023 so only needed her distemper (and whatever else they give annually) shot in June. Sadie is a pretty low energy dog. She doesn't play with toys but she likes to carry them around and when she goes outside she'll usually take one with her. Sometimes she leaves the toy outside but will go get it when told to 'get your toy' if she remembers where she dropped it. She walks well on a leash but slowly and has to stop and rest for a few minutes every 2-3 blocks. In fact her stamina on walks has gotten somewhat worse while I've had her which is another reason I wonder if she has some underlying health concerns.
