About Max

Max has been in our single family home her entire life. She is a pure bred Catahoula purchased from a breeder in Central North Carolina. Zero Health Issues. She has moved a number of times over the course of 4 years while traveling in our military family and has been forced to readjust. Over the course of the past two years while in North Carolina her aggression/possessive tendencies have spiked within our household and have illustrated traits which predicate this posting. Specifically, she was the instigator of two dog fights in our home with our other dog. I have been unable to train down her prey drive yet and am currently forced to keep her separated from our other dog. Despite her possessive (food/toy aggression) nature, she is very loyal once she knows you by scent and presence. She is well mannered and understands all basic commands well. This dog is without a doubt a protector of the family that homes her. At first introduction, she simply fears what she is not familiar with. I am seeking a dog lover who has patience to allow her to warm up and provide a loving home. It is highly recommended she not go to a home with another dog. It is also recommended she have space to run or a fenced in area because she is very Work driven with a Ball.
