Castiel is a Great Pyrenees that is amazing with both of our daughters 8 and 12. He is also submissive to our miniature schnauzer. I believe that he is experiencing bouts of misconstrued aggression towards myself and my husband due to boredom of suburban life. Despite consistent interaction, exercise, affection, and socialization, Castiel occasionally growls and snaps at me. A total of 4 times since we adopted him in 2022. This is not something I would normally worry about. He is not the first large dog I have had, nor the most aggressive dog I have had. However, the sporadic nature of aggressive outbursts concerns me. I have been unable to identify triggers and I am not willing to take the risk with my children. More pictures are available. I worry that we are not providing an adequate home for Castiel. We have had 'farm' dogs before and not run into this issue because of the way we care for them. 99.9% of the time Castiel is a loveable goofball that causes trouble only with the wagging of his tail. I believe we just cannot give him what he needs. As I said, we did not go into becoming Castiel's family blindly and he is loved. We are hoping to find a place for him where he is more comfortable and feels more free.
