About Charlie

URGENT!!! NEEDS A NO KID HOME ASAP! [Case opened on 1/4/25]. WOODWORTH, OHIO OR MEETING POINT. 3 Y/O MALE SHEPHERD/LAB. His name is ' CHARLIE'. Background: Charlie was adopted from a shelter 2 years ago. NOT UTD on shots WITH record (Due for Annuals). Fixed. NOT good with kids. Good with FAMILY dogs, but Reactive to stranger dogs. NOT good with cats. House trained. Crate trained (Will go inside when you say 'kennel' but will escape when you're gone). Needs an Escape Proof Crate. No known medical issues. HIGH ENERGY . HIGH PREY DRIVE. FOOD/TOY AGGRESSION Currently on PURINA ONE LAMB AND RICE food. Weighs 75 lbs. OK with car rides, but will whine sometimes. Loves: bones - sticks - butt scratches - chilling on the couch - going for walks and Adventures - exploring- to run - learning- being with his people. Personality: dominant - very intelligent - loyal and playful. Charlie is such a good boy and needs someone that is able to work with him. He does have Food and Toy Aggression. He will get aggressive over food and treats, toys, etc. Charlie has bitten her toddler over food before so this is a definite issue that needs worked with. He is very intelligent and knows Basic Commands plus some Hand Signals. He is eager to learn. He rings a bell when he needs to go outside. He is an overall very happy boy. He is very weary of strangers but warms up quickly. He is a great companion other than his Food Aggression/Resource Guarding. The Current Shepherd Parent needs to re home Charlie because he cannot be trusted around kids and she has a toddler. He needs someone experienced who will be able to work with him through this. Charlie will thrive best in a NO kid home with someone who is home a lot who is able and willing to work with him. He will make such a great companion for the right person.
