Posting date: Jan 5, 2025 Rehoming a Shiba Inu - Name: Waldo Female (6.5 Years Old, Toasted Sesame) Reason for Rehoming: She's been a wonderful companion, but due to personal challenges, I can no longer meet all her needs. She deserves a loving home where she will thrive. General Information Breed: Shiba Inu Age: 6.5 years (Born June 10, 2018) Gender: Female, Spayed Microchip: 956000007746627 https://petchipregistry-us.info/ Training and Behavior House-trained: Yes, no accidents at home. Commands Known: Up, Down, Sit, Stay (7/10), Come (7/10), Go to bed/home, Drop it (8/10), No (8/10), Go (for food games). Socialization: Gets along with other dogs. Curious but untested with cats. Loves people and social attention. Limited experience with young children; best with older kids (10+ years). She enjoys polite interactions but dislikes her personal space being invaded. Energy and Activities Energy Level: High; enjoys long walks, outdoor play, and the snow. Thrives in open spaces but is adaptable to apartment living. Favorite Activities: Tug-of-war and hybrid fetch games. Food-search games (hiding treats and finding them). Preferred Toys: Spiky balls, Kong animals (durable toys). Behavioral Notes Separation Anxiety: Adapts with crate training in new environments. Fine being left alone once settled. Food Aggression: Guards food around other dogs. No issues with humans; can be hand-fed. Best to separate food and high-value toys during initial introductions to new pets. Recall: Moderate with me (we lack a strong bond), but excellent with people she trusts. Health and Medical Needs Vaccinations: Up to date. Bladder/Gut Health: Excellent. Can hold bladder even on rainy days when she dislikes going out. IMPORTANT Allergies: Seasonal (mid-July to November). Treated with Cytopoint injections, Reactine (AM), Benadryl (PM), and a donut collar at home. Condition improves yearly. Grooming: Regular brushing and monthly grooming. Sheds heavily twice a year. Ideal Home Preferably with a yard or outdoor space, though apartment living works with regular park visits. Best suited for someone with a steady routine and experience with dogs. Ideally, no other pets or young children in the home. Additional Information Diet: Vet Diet brand (Lamb, Duck, or Salmon varieties). Car Behavior: Comfortable, no car sickness. Vet Visits: Loves the vet (treats!). Rehoming Fee: 50$. Expectations for New Owner Experienced dog owner with time and a stable schedule. Willingness to respect her needs, including managing her allergies and providing a loving environment. If you think you can provide a great home for this wonderful Shiba Inu, please reach out.
