I rehomed Lexi when her owner was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and there were no other options for Lexi. She had been with her owner since a puppy and is very well trained and has had good vet care. Lexi has grown very attached to me and will bite my other dogs when they get near me. She is also very food aggressive but we have been working on this and as long as I remind her to take it 'easy' she is very good. But she will get excited when given a treat, especially around other dogs and she may take your hand with the treat. Lexi will, 'sit pretty', give you her paw and comes when called. She loves to walk on or off leash. She travels well and stays in my office when I'm working and is very well behaved. She is fine with sleeping in a crate but she has to be near her owner at night. She is very food motivated and will do anything for a treat and is very overweight. She steals the other dogs food and it is challenging to separate 3 dogs at meal time. Lexi has never had an accident in the house and will let you know when she needs to go out which isn't very often. She is also trained to use the doggie door as long as it does not touch her body when she goes through. Lexi would be a good companion for anyone but especially for an elderly person who mostly stays home. Lexi sleeps with the other dogs but gets aggressive towards them when I give the other dogs attention such as when I am grooming them or just petting them. When I have big get togethers Lexi just hangs out and waits for someone to drop some food. Since Lexi is over weight she does have some trouble climbing multiple flights of stairs. She is ok with one flight. If a person with health problems would like to take her I would gladly take her back incase of hospital visits or worse. I will deliver Lexi to her new home to determine if it's the right fit. I'm in Western Pennsylvania late in the week and in Northern West Virginia the beginning of the week. I can take her in either direction.
