* Luna was rescued from Twin Cities's Pet Rescue in 2021. We are unsure of her history prior to that. For the last three years, Luna has lived in a home with a golden retriever mix who she gets along with well, although it took some training and time. Luna also lives with a two year-old and a two month old who she adores in a small, single family home with close neighbors. The kids love the dogs and Luna truly is a mama bear and gentle giant when it comes to children. Luna does have significant anxiety and is on fluoxetine daily to aid with this. 9 out of 10 times, Luna has calm, quiet days spent sleeping or roaming in the fenced in yard. However, she is barky when other dogs or people walk by our house. She has never attempted to engage with another human in a aggressive manner however, she does have a history of aggression and reactivity towards other dogs. As mentioned earlier, it took time and training for her to adjust to life with our resident dog three years ago, but they coexist and even play together now. She loves the snow, spending time outside, and being cuddled up with her owners. Luna would be best suited with someone able to focus on aggression training towards other dogs and who is comfortable with a large dog with significant strength. Luna's number one goal is clearly to please her people, she just sometimes forgets herself and needs help. She's sure to offer a kind and loving relationship after an adjustment period to whoever takes her in. With changing circumstances in our family, we are no longer able to provide Luna with the environment she needs. Her resource guarding and aggression towards other dogs needs attention and we cannot provide that while also taking care of two small children at home. Luna must ALWAYS be on a leash or in a fenced in yard.
