About Barnie

BARNIE is a 7 year old, 30 pound terrier mix surrendered because her owner was unable to keep her. She has the most fabulous ears! BARNIE is sweet, friendly, and tail wagging happy! She loves to be petted and kissed and gives plenty of kisses back. She is generally friendly with other dogs and plays with her foster siblings, but she would be happiest as an only dog. She is not a fan of sharing food or treats or toys with other dogs or people. She is fed separately and when her foster mom gives treats, she has everyone sit and Barnie is okay with everyone being handed a treat in turn. When eating if a dog or person gets close to her bowl, she will growl and show teeth. Her foster mom waits until she walks away to pick up the bowl because she will guard an empty bowl if she is near it. BARNIE is housebroken, good in the car and does well on a leash. She loves to be outside in the yard, lying in the sun. She frequently likes to go off on her own away from the other dogs and will stay out in the yard after they have gone inside. We would love for her to have a fenced yard but a screened in patio or sun porch would also be good for her. Barnie occasionally sleeps on the bed but will growl if bumped by another dog or person so her foster mom puts her in a dog bed on the floor if she is getting grumpy. This girl likes her space! BARNIE has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, has had a dental cleaning, is heartworm negative, has a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about BARNIE: Barnie will stand on her hind legs for treats, it's adorable! She is calm and quiet unless she hears a noise and then will bark. She should not go to a home with children and has not been tested with cats.
