About Bootsie

Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

From her foster- 'She's not much of a barker unless she sees her reflection- LOL. She makes grunting noises sometimes but is relatively quiet. She loves her crate, I leave it open and she goes in to nap and takes her toys with her. She's still a little timid but nothing like she was when she arrived. She's unsure of strangers and will shy away. She gets along with other dogs and my cat. I feed her 4 times a day ( she was very thin when I got her) for a total of 1 cup, I'll be increasing it in a few days. She's doing good with potty training and uses pee pads, but mostly she goes outside. She's still learning to be a puppy. She likes playing with balls and old squeaky toys (not interested in the new ones I got her), lol She likes being in your lap, but you will need to initiate it. I pick her up, and she'll lay down in my lap or next to me and sleep.' Stylish Bootsie is showing off her cute little white paws. She's 11 pounds (as of end of Dec), about 4 months old and has received her rabies, bordetella, and distemper vaccines. She was pulled from a Texas shelter and is now in a foster home. Her tail has been removed (probably by her former owner) and we heard rumors that he also killed her mother. Happily, puppies are resilient and she is gaining trust in humans again. When she got to her foster home she spent the first day hiding out in her crate, but by day 2 she ventured out and started playing with the resident dog and allowed her new foster mom to pet her. Hopefully she will now get to experience the love and care that all puppies and dogs deserve. Bootsie is currently in Texas, but once adopted, will be transported to the NJ area.
