Like so many rescue dogs we come across, the start of Rocky's story is a sad one. We don't know exactly what he suffered but he was found tied to a tree in terrible shape with a collar embedded in his neck. When he was first rescued he was so traumatized he would bang his head against his kennel wall and self mutilate. At that time the only thing that helped was medication but with lots of patience, time, exercise and TLC he was weaned off his meds and he blossomed into the happy, playful little boy he is now. When talking about resilience, Rocky is a living, breathing example. His kennel handler says he's a fun-loving little soul who just loves being outside and playing. He is always so happy to see her, each morning offering her a wiggly butt and a big smile when she gets to his kennel. He gets along with other dogs and when cat tested he was also good with cats. He is neutered, has all his vaccinations and is a handsome, healthy pearl Staffy. His advocates have worked hard to get him here and he's worked hard to open up to them and put the past behind him. Now it's time for all of us who hate the people who do these things to dogs and want to see every dog treated well to step up. Do what you can to help Rocky find a soft landing. He desperately needs a forever home where he can belong to something good. Please share, tell someone you know about him, adopt if you're looking for a sweet boy to share your life with or offer to foster. Let's keep Rocky smiling and give him the happy ending he deserves.
