About Sugar Cookie

Meet Sugar Cookie Sugar Cookie was a stray that was found on the streets of the Bronx. He was then taken to the Animal Care Centers of New York. At the shelter he showed off his social skills and was friendly and outgoing. However his time was coming to an end. An amazing family came to his rescue and saved his life. They have been working with him to ensure his manners are down pat and exceptional! I'm Sugar Cookie, a one-year old pit/lab mix who loves to be part of the family and the dog pack. I love going to the dog park and going on walks with my dog friends. I'm great meeting people and other dogs and have an energetic and friendly spirit. I was found as a stray in the Bronx at age 6 months old, and then spent some time in the shelter. I am really loving life on the outside, and I enjoy every walk and meal to the fullest! I am good with kids, meeting new people, and other dogs. I'm probably a little too interested in meeting cats. My leash skills have improved drastically during my time with my foster family, and I've learned to walk nicely alongside people. I am housetrained and crate trained, and sleep well through the night. My ideal adopters would have some outdoor space (or access to) and would enjoy walks, hikes, runs, and taking me to the dog park to see my doggie friends and run around and burn up some of that puppy energy! I've been going to the dog park regularly and I get along well with everyone. I am looking to make up lost time by being part of home, and I have a lot of affection for people. I do have a lot of energy and curiosity, so please be patient with me as I continue to learn the rules and become part of the team. My wife and I are fostering Sugar Cookie. He's great, has a ton of affection and really wants to be part of a home. He's looking forward to getting the next chapter (and the rest of his life) started as a valued and loved pet. He gets along very well with our three dogs and the neighbor's dog!
